Children's Theatre Company
Design darling Michael Graves conceived the expansion of this Tony Award-winning theater. The centerpiece is the dazzling Cargill stage, dedicated to shows for preschoolers and teens.
Guthrie Theater
This Jean Nouvel stunner was hailed by GQ as "a jaw-dropping feat of engineering and architectural chutzpah." Featuring dramatic river views, the spectacular endless bridge and two celebrated restaurants in one of Minneapolis's most exciting neighborhoods.
Central Library
Cesar Pelli's eye-catching creation is a downtown gathering place, with five stories of books, computers, meeting spaces and a café—plus a children's library and Teen Central, a one-of-a-kind resource center exclusively for teens.
Minneapolis Institute of Arts
Housed in the same complex with the Children's Theatre Company, the Michael Graves expansion lets the Institute show off more of its impressive permanent collection.
Walker Art Center
The 2005 expansion designed by Herzog & de Meuron doubled the size of this internationally acclaimed art center. Featuring new galleries, rooftop terraces, and one of the hottest tables in town: 20.21 by Wolfgang Puck.
Weisman Art Museum
The country's only art museum by visionary Frank Gehry will undertake an 11,000-square-foot expansion designed by Gehry himself. The addition will double exhibition space and create a dedicated studio for creative collaborations. Projected completion date: 2009.
